Artist's Comments
Another test at painting "cutout", this time with animals in motion. This oil-on-canvas is 120x120 cm and was done for the specific purpose of practice and that I needed something new on one of my livingroom walls. The reference is a rather blurred photo which made the cutout technique a bit more challenging.
Now animals is not my preferred objects to paint, and horsies.. well.. I just realized that much of what I do like with this painting comes from the scale, which unfortunately becomes lost when presented on the screen. Oh well... Now if I could just pull myself up to finish some of the other halfdone paintings lying around... |
